Yellowplum I like this

Yellowplum is a 33 year old single woman from Belfast, Maine, USA.
Well, basically, life is good! As a jewelry designer/artisan I get to make pretty things all day and I split my time between two really beautiful towns: Belfast, Maine and Parrsboro, Nova Scotia. I've also lived in NYC (my hometown), in London, England, and in Athens, Georgia. Before starting yellowplum beads, I worked as a secretary in a doctor's office, a law firm, and a university. Before that I studied linguistics and Finnish in college. I have five cats. I'm kind of a geek. I don't like oranges. I like to take pictures, too. Maybe someday I'll show you some.

Petition asking Clorox, the maker of Brita water filters to: take responsibility for the millions of plastic filter cartridges that are landfilled or incinerated each year by: 1) Redesigning its Brita filter cartridges so that the plastic housing can be refilled rather than discarded each time the filter is changed. 2) Providing a take-back program, such as the one that exists in Europe, so that used cartridges can be returned to the company for recycling. 3) Creating a system for the cartridges to be dismantled and the components recycled/reused domestically rather than landfilled, incinerated, or shipped overseas.
